HPOC SCHOOL OF COUNSELING

Two Paths, One Purpose: Healing & Transformation

At HPOC University, both Holistic Counseling and Transpersonal Counseling are rooted in the same mission—to honor ancestral wisdom, metaphysical science, and culturally relevant healing for our communities. While their approaches differ, they are two sides of the same coin:

  • Holistic Counseling equips you to meet clients at the intersection of health, balance, and daily living, weaving together emotional support with natural remedies, energy systems, and lifestyle guidance.

  • Transpersonal Counseling prepares you to walk with clients at the threshold of spirit and consciousness, helping them navigate spiritual awakenings, existential questions, and transcendent experiences.

No matter which path you choose, you will graduate as a counselor deeply grounded in metaphysical science, ready to guide others toward wholeness, purpose, and liberation.

HOLISTIC COUNSELING

Healing the whole person—body, mind, spirit, and lifestyle. Holistic Counseling meets you at the intersection of health and emotional balance.

  • Core Focus:
Grounded in the integration of body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Holistic counseling emphasizes lifestyle, nutrition, energy systems, environment, and natural healing methods as much as emotional or psychological well-being.

  • Approach:
Practical and client-centered, often blending traditional talk therapy with complementary modalities (e.g., herbal remedies, breathwork, meditation, art therapy, somatic practices, energy medicine).

  • Scope:
Prepares practitioners to address health disparities and emotional challenges in culturally relevant ways, using natural and metaphysical tools alongside counseling methods.

  • Identity:
A holistic counselor is as much a healer and guide as a counselor—working with the whole person, not just their psychological state.

TRANSPERSONAL COUNSELING

Healing through expanded states of consciousness and spiritual/transcendent experiences.  Transpersonal Counseling meets you at the threshold of spirit and consciousness.

  • Core Focus:
Centers on the spiritual dimension of human experience and the expansion of consciousness. Draws heavily from psychology (Jungian, humanistic, and existential) while exploring mystical, religious, and metaphysical experiences.

  • Approach:
Focuses on transcendent states, spiritual crises (“dark nights of the soul”), mystical awakening, meditation, altered states of consciousness, dreamwork, and archetypal exploration.

  • Scope:
Equips practitioners to guide clients through spiritual growth, existential challenges, and integration of peak experiences into everyday life. Less emphasis on physical health modalities, more emphasis on the psyche–spirit connection.

  • Identity:
A transpersonal counselor functions like a spiritual psychologist—helping clients find meaning, purpose, and higher states of awareness as part of their healing journey.
